1. How long do AWS SmartFlow
filters last & cost?
The life and performance of cartridges may vary,
depending on the volume, quality and pressure
of the incoming water supply being purified.
The filter cartridges used in the AWS Smart-Flow
micro purification system (including the shower
system) are guaranteed to last 12 months. If
they need replacing in less than 12 months they
are changed for free. To maintain warranty and
correct water quality filters must be changed
every 12 months. Our customers also benefit
by receiving a 40% discount on all replacement
filters. The total cost to replace all 6 filters
in the package is $165 ($27.50 each filter cartridge).
This price includes GST & Installation -

7. I live in a rural area and depend on tank
water. I know I have to do something about it.
What can you recommend?
When you are on tank water, the biggest concerns
are threats from micro-organisms such as bacteria,
viruses, algae, Giardia, Cryptosporidium, etc.
You may also be exposed to the risks of drinking
chemicals and heavy metals from chemical sprays
and leaching from the roof, tanks and pipes.
The AWS SmartFlow system is rated to be ideal
for use with rainwater.
8. I remember the terrible outbreak of Cryptosporidium
in Sydney a few years ago. Are we safe from
it? If not, how can I avoid this?
There is growing concern about Giardia and Cryptosporidium
in Melbourne and other rural water supply systems,
according to John Archer's study. Nobody knows
how much we are getting in our tap water. The
AWS SmartFlow system avoids the future possibility
of getting these deadly parasites - they cannot
be effectively disinfected by chlorine.
9. I want all the water in my house clean and
filtered. Is a whole house system a good idea?
You have to be very careful with a whole house
system. There are some filter companies who
frequently recommend a whole house system as
a thorough solution but that is not always a
good idea. First, with a whole house system
you cannot achieve the best quality because
the filters for a whole house system are mostly
low to medium grade because of the large volume
to handle. Secondly, the actual portion of the
water you really want to purify to a high degree
quality is not much - especially drinking water
takes only about 1% of the total household usage.
Therefore, it makes better sense to use the
AWS SmartFlow package which covers all the water
for your households personal consumption. But
if you are chemical sensitive and/or want the
convenience of having filtered water from every
tap in your house, we recommend use of a whole
house filter system in conjunction with the
AWS SmartFlow System.
10. How important is it to filter
the water I/my family shower & bath in? BACK
TO TOP
Asides from making hair and skin dry and flaky,
we absorb more chlorine through our skin taking
a ten minute shower or bath than if we drink
8 glasses of tap water. Also, we recieveup to
100 times more chloroform by breathing the air
around showers, baths and dishwashers than by
drinking the water. With these facts in mind
it is considered very important to filter the
water you and your family shower & bath
in.
